A Brief Sketch of the Minimal Model Program

چکیده

The pursuit of general structure theorems on algebraic varieties often leads naturally to questions of classification. One approach to such theorems is via the notion of birational equivalence, and more specifically, can be broken into the following two steps: (i) Understand the relationship between any two birationally equivalent varieties. (ii) Find natural “simplest” representatives of every birational equivalence class, called a minimal model. One can easily imagine that if such a program were carried out, it would constitute a powerful tool in proving structure theorems. Indeed, one could first prove a theorem for the minimal models provided by (ii), which are intended to be easier to work with, and then use (i) to deduce the statement for arbitrary varieties. A hint of the complexity of (ii) is that the following is already a very deep and powerful theorem:

Real World Modeling and Nonlinear Control of an Electrohydraulic Driven Clutch

In this paper, a complete model of an electro hydraulic driven dry clutch along with its performance evaluation has elucidated. Through precision modeling, a complete nonlinear physical and full order sketch of clutch has drawn. Ultimate nonlinearities existent in the system prohibits it from being controlled by conventional linear control algorithms and to compensate the behavior of the sy...

Progressive reconstruction of 3D objects from a single free-hand line drawing

This paper presents a progressive algorithm by which we can narrow down the searching domain for face identification and reconstruct various 3D objects from a single freehand line sketch drawing in short time. The sketch drawings served as an input for the reconstruction process in this paper are obtained from an inaccurate freehand sketch of a 3D wireframe object, which is the edge–vertex grap...

The Sketching Approach to Program Synthesis

Sketching is a new form of localized software synthesis that aims to bridge the gap between a programmer’s high-level insights about a problem and the computer’s ability to manage low-level details. In sketching, the programmer uses partial programs to describe the desired implementation strategy, and leaves the low-level details of the implementation to an automated synthesis procedure. This p...

Comparison of the Effectiveness of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy on Interpersonal Relationships between Couples with Depression

Background and Objective: Depression is a multifactorial psychological disorder that is caused by various factors, such as personality, cognition, or interpersonal relationships. In people with depression, the level of interpersonal communication is highly low. Therefore, this study aimed to compare the effectiveness of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy on interperso...

The Steiner tree packing problem in VLSI design

In this paper we describe several versions of the routing problem arising in VLSI design and indicate how the Steiner tree packing problem can be used to model these problems mathematically. We focus on switch-box routing problems and provide integer programming formulations for routing in the knock-knee and in the Manhattan model. We give a brief sketch of cutting plane algorithms that we deve...
